Hey there world, welcome to the end of SXSW, or, as I like to call it, SUC BY SUC CESS.
And what a suc by success! The programming for this festival is either getting better or i’m getting more intuitive about what will suck by suck suck. Either way, every film I saw I liked to varying degrees of much. SXSW announced its winners, but I didn’t see those movies so I’m awarding best narrative(s) to Starlet and Black Pond, and best documentary to The Source. Also special jury prize for exceptionable Whedoness to Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard.
My reviews are below. This will probably be it for this year, but if anything else comes pouring from my bruised and broken skull shack, I will dutifully update this post. (Mouse-over-mini-reviews for your punsumption)
